Sun Prairie Fire Results in Loss of Pets

On December 31, 2025, at 5:17 PM, Sun Prairie Volunteer Fire Department received a call regarding a structure fire on Wilderness Lane. Vaughn Fire & Rescue VFD, Black Eagle Volunteer Fire Department, and firefighters from the Montana Air National Guard - 120th Airlift Wing assisted in the call. All residents were successfully evacuated; however, regrettably, some of the family’s pets did not survive the fire. One pet was transported to Indian Hammer Veterinary Service for treatment. The fire was reported to have originated in the kitchen area of the residence, situated on Wilderness Lane near McIver Road.
