Ode to a Bubba Poem By Gennett
He is younger than me but calls me his little sister.
From cooking to home improvement to cars
He gives advice to anyone who asks.
He’s the go-to-guy, by far.
He has patience to spare
He can talk to me about nothing for hours.
We drove our mom crazy with silliness.
Being a great guy is his superpower.
We grew up in the country
Bare feet summers, chasing June bugs
Sledding and snow cream in the winter
Hoping for a “snow day”
It’s Mountain Dew or Sweet Tea
Driving the big rigs or fishing
Playing practical jokes or teasing
He is still a brother and a friend.
So raise a toast to the “Bubba” in your family
Call them to ask to for advice
Send a funny card on their birthday
Give them a hug and say I love you.
